2014 Race Day
Formula E is a 14 week long design and build project that culminates with a race competition. The event has been held annually since 2006 at the Art Center College of Design, hosted by the Graduate Industrial Design Department. Each team designs, builds, and develops a remote controlled car that is powered by 16' elastic band.
Teams from all of the world compete including those from;
Art Center College of Design
Pasadena Community College
Beijing University of Technology and Tsinghua Universities in China.
As well as Pro Category teams from;

As a member Team Monster we did what no other team has done in the last 10 years. Up against fifteen competing teams we won:
ALL three events &
broke ALL previous record times
set a new record category for BOTH taking first and setting record times in all three races.
Our priority was to create a competitive car with a focus on function. We garnered ideas from teams past and present, and then continued to apply new systems and strategies that had never been seen before.
Record Breaking Races
Figure Eight Race. Previous Record 21.10 Set 2013. Our Record 19.19
Drag Race. Previous Record 4.34 Set 2011. Our Record 4.26
Hill Climb Race. Previous Record 11.15 Set 2013. Our Record 9.92
Car Build
Innovation
Our design is extremely lightweight, strong, and easy to fix. This allowed for continuous racing practice and constant improvements in a timely manner. Specific innovations are:
flexible long design
braking system that gripped the exterior of the drivetrain.
