Residential Architecture: Cache Valley Home

7,102 sq.ft

2008

While working for Lloyd Architects in Salt Lake City I was assigned as the lead draftsmen on the new construction River Heights House. I met with the clients and architect to help design a home that met their needs, was beautiful and would work with their growing family.  This was my first opportunity to take the lead on a house when I worked for this architect which taught me a great deal about designing a system as complicated as a house and managing all of those parts while staying on schedule, on budget and still creating something beautiful and functional.

Drafting Work

For the project I was put in charge of keeping the project moving forward, meeting and scheduling appointments with clients, and working closely with the architect to ensure the design met his vision and the needs of the client. Needs which included the size, function and cost of the home to be designed and built within the desired time frame.

Inspiration

The home was inspired by the sweeping roof of the W.G. Low house.
