Advice and direction came from Don Chadwick, the designer of Herman Millers Equa and Aeron Chair. Full scale models were created to test functionality and comfort.
Final Fabrication
The fabrication was done by myself and those I sent parts and designs out to, all meeting my specifications. Much of the work I was capable of completing, but I felt it beneficial to have certain steps done by experts in their field. This required I manage both my time and the professionals time.
- The metal was water-jet cut and the pieces welded together.
- Screw taps allow for the table to be broken down and flat packed.
- The walnut top was CNC'd to achieve the desired elliptical round.
- Also CNC'd are the groves on the bottom to accommodate the inset frame.
- The frame was sent out to be chromed.
- The feet and the top of the legs were sent to a woodworker to be lathed.
- I then sanded and sealed all the wood and assembled the final product.
