After high school I began work as a draftsmen designing and making technical drawings of homes, commercial properties, multi-unit housing, and medical offices.
uring my studies at the University of Utah on track to receive a degree in Architecture I discovered design. This sent me on a radically different path in which I created a degree focusing in design thinking and human-centered design practices.
After finishing my degree I worked as a Research Fellow for the Spark Health Lab leading a team of students through design challenges at the Universities hospital. Simultaneously I worked as a junior designer at a local product development firm, Espiritu Design.
These experiences revealed my weaknesses and encouraged me to seek further education. I was accepted into the Graduate Industrial Design program at ArtCenter College of Design where I have been able to gain abilities and experience in design, strategy and research.
While attending the ArtCenter I worked as a Designmatters Fellow for the City of Long Beach where working for the government I used my experience to design for social good. This experience has excited and strengthened my goal to create human-centered design, and that design is a powerful tool when utilized in any application.
Along this path I have grown as a designer, researcher, strategist, and additionally as a husband and father.
